Local Government and Public Services Ombudsman
We can advise on complaints to the Local Government Ombudsman and the Public Services Ombudsman for Wales and all aspects of maladministration.
Before making an Ombudsman complaint against a local planning authority or highway authority, one must have exhausted the Council's own complaints process first and either have received an unsatisfactory response or no answer at all.
The scope of Ombudsman Complaints is limited, as often is the prospect of obtaining compensation for any adverse effects suffered as a result of a Council's maladministration.
However, where it is in the public interest to ensure that the Council follows its own procedures properly, the Ombudsman will often get involved and resolve the issue. Get in touch for further advice.
